Tirpude College of Social Work came into being on 1st July 1966. Tirpude College of Social Work is one of the pioneer institutes in central India imparting Social Work Education and training to create knowledge and value based society with a vision of inclusive and sustainable development through qualitative educational empowerment. Tirpude College of Social Work has been awarded ‘A+’ grade by National Accreditation and Assessment Council constituted by University Grant Commission in the 3rd cycle of its accreditation in 2017. The college has previously been accredited with “A” grade in 2004 and 2011 by NAAC it is the only college in the faculty of social work in Maharashtra State and R.T.M. Nagpur University, Nagpur having achieved ‘A+’ status as well as recognized as the college with Potential for Excellence by University Grants Commission, New Delhi in XIIth Plan. The college is permanently affiliated to R. T. M. Nagpur University and is recognized as a Place for Higher learning and Research. Ours is ISO : 21001 : 2018 Crtified College The College is recognized by Ministry of Higher and Technical Education Govt. of Maharashtra and University Grants Commission New Delhi. The college has organized many national, international seminars sponsored by Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi, in the collaboration with other social and academic organizations on various social issues such as farmer suicides, disaster management, scheduled caste, scheduled tribe, ageing, sustainable development goals, water security, pre marriage counselling, infatuation and love, Information Technology and so on. The college has contributed its services for the social causes at the local and national level and also contributed in framing policies for marginalized. The college is constantly working in the field of research. So far the college has conducted major & minor research projects sponsored by ICSSR and UGC on important social issues from the year 2012 till date . In extension activities the college has Child Guidance and student Counselling Centre, PEACE project, N.S.S. unit of 150 students, Women Development Centre, AQWA and celebration of National and International Days, Birth and Death anniversaries of great leaders, social reformers of the Nation. The college has well equipped Library, rich with e-resource. The college has Anti Ragging Cell, Internal Complaint Committee, Equal Opportunity Cell, Placement Cell and Mentoring_ The Faculty is highly competent and well qualified. Acknowledging persistent academic excellence the National Accreditation and Assessment Council (NAAC) Banglore accredited the college with ‘A’ grades twice and with A+ in the third accreditation cycle, the University Grant Commission (UGC) has conferred ‘Autonomous Status’ to Tirpude College of Social Work making it the first social work college with autonomous status in Central India. Ours is the only Social work college having ISO 21001:2018 certification.
